Bitcoins for Gambling and Playing Poker Online

Crypto-currency it’s called. That is to say, bitcoin is a digital currency with its transfer and creation designed around cryptography. Bitcoin started in 2009 and has since had a particularly volatile time on the market. Bitcoin is a currency that can be mined through the use your computer’s processing power and can be spent on goods and services.

Bitcoin is not widely accepted just yet, however the low (sometimes free) transaction costs have appealed to almost every consumer. Due to the anonymity of all bitcoin transactions and the inherent lack of barriers to trade, bitcoin is a top choice for gamblers in the US. Currently depositing in online poker sites from the US is banned, but with bitcoin the area becomes increasingly grey. A player could deposit in a bitcoin poker client without being traced through a highly secure and encrypt transaction – this makes bitcoin ideal for anyone looking to play poker and a number of bitcoin poker sites have been set up due to this demand.

So what’s the downside to bitcoins and gambling with bitcoins?

Well there are possible legal issues. Although it’s not clear just what law you would be breaking, it is unlikely to be received well by the US government. Of course, outside of the US it is perfectly legal to play poker or gamble with bitcoins.

Another issue is the volatility of the bitcoin price. While you’re dealing with the natural variance of gambling and poker, you will also find that the variance of bitcoins adds to the swings. In fact, in 2011 the price of a bitcoin started at less than $1, rose to almost $30 and then finished the year at around $3… it’s not quite got the stability of a dollar or pound sterling just yet.

Apple iPad Projector

A lot of iPad users are unaware of ultra portable and iPad-compatible projectors that make watching your 7″ content a much more emmersive experience. Whether you are looking to play games on a bigger screen, watch movies with friends or present to a large audience – an iPad projector will allow you to do all of that almost 200″ from just a tiny iPad or iPad 2 screen.

iPad Projectors for iPad 2

The initial iPad model was not particularly compatible with any projectors. Microvision launched a projector called the SHOWWX that allowed connectivity to the iPad as well as all VGA devices. It was the first of its kind to really be a success in the industry and since then many pocket projectors have followed. Just over a year on from the initial SHOWWX release, the SHOWWX+ HDMI has come to market that allows connectivity to any device with a HDMI socket. And yes, that includes the iPad 2. This iPad projector still has the same ultra small (iPhone sized) shell and was designed largely to work as an iPad 2 projector. With a higher contrast and brighter display than much of its competitors, the SHOWWX+ HDMI is certainly one of the best ‘pico’ projectors around for iPad and iPad 2.

iPad 3 Projector?

If the rumours are true then we may expect to see built in projectors for the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 in 2012. This would dramatically increase the usability of the iPad but it may also wipe out the market for iPad specific projectors.

But forget the rumours. If you are the owner of an iPad or iPad 2 then you should really take a closer look at these iPad projectors – arguably one of the best mobile devices of 2011.

Can US Players play Online Poker Following Poker’s ‘Black Friday’

poker black fridayOn April 16th 2011 the poker world was hit by a storm that no one saw coming. In a matter of minutes following the news hitting the press, the three largest online poker sites in the world put their entire US gaming on hold. Millions of players and millions of dollars were instantly frozen and panic spread amongst poker forums across the world. It had emerged that PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and the Cereus Network had been indicted with serious fraud allegations involving $3,000,000,000.

The world of online poker was rocked. US players had struggled to find an online poker room in the past and now it became even more difficult. The question ‘where can US players play online poker‘ had never been so desperate. In the land of the ‘free’, people American citizens can no longer make their own choice to gamble money (no matter how small or large) in online poker rooms.

The End of Online Poker for the US?

The US has been crushed by this recent development. While PokerStars and Full Tilt had been openly accepting US players for many years, their ways of loopholing the legal system in the States was not known. After a detailed investigation it was revealed that the 3 poker sites had been allowing players in the US to deposit by ‘tricking’ the banks into allowing it.

While fascinating, players are still allowed to deposit in a couple of other poker rooms like Carbon Poker, where it has noticed over 50% increase in traffic following poker’s ‘Black Friday’. More news to come.

DJ Equipment: The Best Setup

DJ Equipment setupYou’re ready to get your party on and have honed your DJ skills so that you can deliver the tools you need to get that dance floor hopping and you’ll need the DJ equipment for the best set up, won’t you?

Well today’s new digital age affords for less bulky equipment than in the golden age of disco.

Let’s say you’ve nailed that gig you’ve been looking for and the venue requires the best in DJ skills.  You know your audience and crowd and just what type of music to play and when to play it.  You want not only to deliver the best sound around.  You certainly don’t want to face a crowd of frowning faces and leering eyes while you try to pump up the volume.  No, you’ll need the DJ equipment that’s the best you can assemble.  You’ll need microphones for sending out your shout outs, speakers that deliver the best sound, mixers, equalizers, and if you go the old school route using vinyl records and turntables, then you may have to make a marriage between the two ages to deliver the right sound and performance.

In addition there are the decorations that deliver that party atmosphere like special effects.  All this DJ equipment should be compatible and the manufacturers often take this into consideration.  DJs need to be able to engineer and design their set ups and not two are alike even if they’re held at the same auditorium or hall.  That’s because the crowds are different and ask for different songs and combinations of tunes like re-mixes and such.  The versatile DJ has to be prepared for not only planning the playlist but for assembling one on the fly.

So if you’re a professional DJ or an up and coming DJ, then getting the DJ equipment for the best set up means knowledge of the types of equipment available and utilising the websites, blogs, and message boards for where to shop and what to shop for.  You’ll be surprised at how much you can save and how far ahead you can get with the right mindset for such equipment.

Everyone Needs to Relieve Boredom

Why has Online Gambling become so Popular?

Online gaming appears to be going from strength to strength, with both the players and providers vastly increasing in numbers year after year. In fact it is expected that sales will hit a staggering $15 billion in sales in 2011.

One of the factors believed to have contributed to this phenomenal surge in growth is the constant availability of online gaming facilities. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, these virtual communities are ready and waiting for you and I to sign in and get into the action.

The rise in multiplayer games is one of the largest success stories. People either arrange with real world friends to commence play at a certain time, or they just throw themselves in amongst the broader gaming community, the majority of whom will be based in different continents and time zones. The other option of course is to play online against a computer. For many this is still their preferred method of gaming. Most games offer varying levels of difficulty that allow the user to select the one that they feel both challenges their ability whilst ensuring there is a good chance they can win and move on to the next level.

Very often new gamers will play against the computer initially in order to improve their skills and confidence, and then enter into larger community public games once they feel up to it. An important part of this process is having access to rules, as this enables players to find frequently asked questions and generally reassure themselves that they are fully equipped to play against other more experienced gamers.

Professional online gaming is a quite a recent phenomenon but one that is becoming increasingly common. High profile online players can win serious prize money and even gain corporate sponsorship. On the subject of money, another branch of the online gaming world that seems to be going from absolute strength to strength is online gambling and virtual casinos. Players relish the excitement as they play a variety of games such as poker, roulette, black jack and slot machines. Gamers play for real money against one another and the house in daring attempts to win big.

Where will the online gaming community head next? Difficult to say. All I am sure is that as the real and virtual worlds continue to merge, we can expect online gaming to continue to become an increasingly prominent parts of our everyday lives.
